1. First remove handrail from rear of platform then mount 3x3 square tube and turn buckle to belly of combine, insert pipe bracket and ladder and pin brackets as shown, lightly snug bolts until final assembly.
2. Slide ladder up tire until lip of ladder rests on platform and position left to right as desired. (center on hand rail holes on 50-60-70 Sts series, the left edge of ladder will be on outer edge of upper platform when mounted to S series John Deere combines) after lip of ladder is resting on platform lift rear of ladder to desired height (insert a 38 inch board under third step ,this will give you a 18 inch step height) step hight can be raised or lowered to desired height by simply sliding step bracket up or down along ladder rails as shown when in position clamp with c clamp.
3. After ladder lip and lower ladder brackets are securely clamped, drill three holes through lip and platform and bolt into place. (because not all platforms are not square with combine body, do not be concerned if platform doesn't contact the full width of ladder, that is why ladder lip holes are not pre drilled) c clamp in left outer corner as shown will allow you to square ladder with body leaving about a four inch gap between gulwing door and ladder.
4. Insert hand rails and secure with bolts, add chain to lift steps.
By adding the step kit you will be able to increase tire clearance by an extra six inches, the adjustable step will be provided at this time
If you can bob for apples you can mount this kit, mount ladder seven to eight inches from Jd platform, two pieces of grip step are provide to cover gap and can be moved front to back as desired to increase platform size as desired
